November 10th, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well as we head into the second part of the school term. Our news this week is as follows

  • Our Parent/teacher meetings will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday here in the school hall. School will close to pupils on Tuesday only at 2.25p.m to facilitate these meetings. School will finish at the usual time on Wednesday. We look forward to seeing you then.

  • Thank you to the pupils and parents who have donated shoeboxes for the Team Hope Christmas Appeal. These boxes will bring such joy to boys and girls who may not have as much as we have here in Ireland. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
  • Thank you to all who supported our Halloween table quiz before mid-term by either attending on the night or buying raffle tickets. A total of €1220 was raised on the night for school funds.
  • I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Joanne O’ Sullivan and her family on the death of her aunt Monica Stenson yesterday. Ar Dheis Dé go rabh a hanam dilís.
  • As the weather has got colder and more damp it is essential that every pupil brings a coat to school. If the day is dry we go outside and having a coat means the pupils are warm and it is pleasant to be out.
  • Literacy Lift off started in 1st Class this week. The pupils are working hard on their familiar reading, new books, writing and word work. I have been very impressed with 1st class and how hard they have been working this week at Literacy Lift Off. Keep up the good work 1st Class!
  • Our Parents’ Association are organising class calendars for Christmas this year instead of the Christmas cards. We will start taking class photos tomorrow ( Friday ) and Monday. Can you make sure that your child is wearing either their full uniform or school tracksuit if they have P.E. on those days. These will make great Christmas gifts for grandparents, aunties and other hard to buy for people.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
