February 22nd, 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well this week. Our news is as follows

  • Faith Friends started for pupils in 6th class who are making their Confirmation this year on Tuesday last after school. This programme is organised by the parish and volunteers come in to the school to work with pupils from St. Tola’s, St. Senan’s and the Gaescoil. It takes place for four Tuesdays from 2,45p.m.-3.30p.m.

  • The cake sale organised by the Parents’ Association raised a total of €588. Thank you to all parents who contributed cakes and buns and for supporting the cake sale. The sale of the Class calendars raised a total of €759 and the Christmas hamper raffle raised €1259. Thank you to the hard working committee of the Parents’ Association who have worked on these projects. It is greatly appreciated.
  • Next Thursday is World Book Day. To celebrate pupils may (if they wish) dress up as a character from a book. There is no need to go out a buy a costume for this – let your child use their imagination and use what they can find at home. If they do not wish to dress up that is fine and they can wear their uniform as usual. Please make sure that any costumes are weather appropriate.
  • The family and individual photos taken recently have gone home this week. If you wish to order the photo please enclose payment with the order. The 6th class and Junior Infant class photos will be taken on Monday next.
  • GAA training started today for pupils in Junior Infants, 1st class, 3rd class and 5th We are fortunate that a coach from Clare GAA is available to lead these sessions and it consists of drills and activities to work on fundamental movement skills. This will take place for these classes for the next few weeks.
  • School will be closed to all pupils on Monday 5th March to facilitate a staff planning day. School will reopen as normal on Tuesday morning 6th March at 9.00am.
  • 6th class performed their Irish play –Annie agus Oliver in Glór yesterday at the Féile na hInse competition. We were informed that they have gone through to the Munster Feile Scoil Dramaiochtaí and this will take place later in March. Ar fheabhas rang a Sé!

Kind regards,
