Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well this week as we head towards our Easter break. Our news this week is as follows

  • Well done to the pupils in 6th class who were involved in the Ceremony of Light as part of their Confirmation preparations on Tuesday night last. The Confirmation ceremony will take place in Mary Immaculate Church on Wednesday 18th April at 11a.m. We are looking forward to this special day in the lives of our 6th class pupils.

  • The First Communion ceremony will take place on Saturday 28th St. Tola’s will continue with the wonderful tradition of welcoming the children and their families back to the school for a Communion breakfast. After the holidays the Parents Association will send home a form to 3rd class parents to confirm how they will be able to return the hospitality they enjoyed last year for this year’s communion class.
  • Swimming lessons will start on 12th April for pupils in 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes and will run for 8 weeks. Each lesson costs €3.50. Swimming is part of the Physical Education curriculum and unless pupils have a medical condition that prevents them from taking part all pupils are required to attend.
  • Wolfe Tones will hold an Easter camp for children aged 6-13 years next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10a.m.-2p.m. Registration is at 9.30a.m. on Tuesday next 27th The cost is €30 per child (€25 for 2nd child and €20 for 3rd child in the family).   • The bookfair continues today when books may be purchased at 1.40p.m. for infants and from 2.40p.m. for other classes. Thank you for supporting our bookfair. The school will receive free books as a result of hosting the bookfair.
  • The parents Association have organised an Easter raffle which will take place tomorrow. There is a prize of a chocolate bunny per class. Tickets cost €2 a strip or 3 for €5.
  • Congratulations to the pupils in 6th class and to their teacher Ms. Vaughan on reaching the All Ireland final of the Feile Dramaíochta competition with their play Annie agus Oliver. We are awaiting confirmation of the date of the competition but it will take place in April in Mullingar. As soon as we have details we will let you know.
  • Tolas will close to pupils at 12pm tomorrow for the Easter break. The school will re-open on Monday 9th April at 9a.m. Beannachtaí na Cásca do gach duine sa scoil.
