Thursday Note 19th April 2018

April 19th, 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well this week as hopefully Spring is on the way! Our news this week is as follows

  •  Congratulations to the pupils in 6th class who made their Confirmation yesterday. The pupils acquitted themselves so well at the ceremony and we were all very proud of them. Thank you to Ms. Vaughan for all her work in preparing the pupils. I hope that every family had an enjoyable day.

  • 6th class will travel to Mullingar on Tuesday next to take part in the All Ireland final of their Irish play “ Annie agus Oliver”. As part of their preparation they would like to perform the play for parents and family members here in the school on Monday next at 11a.m. It should take 30 mins approx.. If you are available we hope that you would be able to attend. We wish 6th all the best for the competition on Tuesday.
  • Thank you to all the parents in 3rd class who have returned the form for helping out at the Communion breakfast for 2nd class on 28th April next. This is a lovely tradition that we hope to keep alive here in St. Tola’s. If you have not returned the form to date we would appreciate if you could do so as soon as possible. If there are parents in other classes who would like to help out please let Tracey know in the school office and we will pass it on to the Parents’ Association.
  • Our girls’ basketball team had a terrific win on Monday last when they beat Quin N.S. to qualify for the final of the Marian Keane competition. The final will take place on Thursday next in Ennis N.S. Good luck to the team!
  • Can I remind parents/guardians that school starts at 9a.m. and please have your child here on time. The hall is open early every morning and is supervised from 8.40a.m. We understand that a pupil can get delayed on occasion but there are a number of pupils who can be late regularly. This is disruptive for the pupils themselves and for their class. We appreciate your co-operation in this matter.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
