Thursday Note 21st June

June 21st, 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It’s hard to believe that today is the longest day of the year so hopefully it is a good one. Our news this week is as follows

  •  Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard yesterday to make our annual Sports for All day a success. It was great to see such a variety of activities from Pilates, races, GAA skills, circuits, games, obstacle course, dance and musical hoops. Well done to all our pupils who showed a positive sporting attitude and gave everything a go. Thank you to our parents and family members who came along to support us. We were lucky with the weather and got all activities completed. I’m sure everyone slept soundly last night!

  • Our end of year Mass will take place tomorrow at 11a.m. here in the hall. All are welcome. Our Graduation ceremony for 6th class pupils moving on to secondary school will take place after the Mass.
  • Booklists for next year are currently being finalised and will be sent out this week. They will also be available on the school website from next week. Parents may pay for books next week if they wish or wait until the start of the next school year.
  • Our Quizbrain final will take place next Thursday at 1p.m. Good luck to our finalists in what has been a thrilling contest to date.
  • All our classes got an opportunity to take part in orienteering around the school this week. The teams were made up of pupils from a number of classes and it was great to see the older pupils helping the younger ones out and working co-operatively together.
  • All school reports will be posted home tomorrow. If you have a query or question for your child’s teacher they are happy to meet with you. It would be helpful if you make an appointment to ensure that the teacher is free to speak with you.
  • Tola’s will close for the summer holidays next Friday 29th June at 12p.m. We hope that all pupils, parents and staff have a relaxing and enjoyable summer and that the weather will be kind to us.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
