Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are safe and well as we head into the Autumn with weather to match! Our news this week is as follows

  • Our Mass to celebrate the start of a new school year will take place tomorrow Friday at 11a.m. here in the school hall. Parents and family members are welcome to attend.

  • Can you please return all updated contact sheets to your child’s teacher if you have not already done so. It is vital that we have up to date contact details in case of emergencies.
  • A meeting for parents of pupils in 6th class who are making Confirmation next May will take place in St. Aidan’s school on Tuesday next 25th September at 7.30p.m.  This meeting is for parents only.
  • Lots of pupils have been busy taking part in trials for the Clare Schools Athletic competition and we now have our team selected. This will take place on Tuesday next in Lee’s road track in Ennis. Thank you to Ms. Cleary, Mr. O’ Neill and Mr Tyrell who have given up their lunchtimes to train the pupils over the past few weeks. We wish everyone well for this competition.
  • Well done to 2nd class who have completed two weeks of Literacy Lift Off at this stage. All the pupils are working so well and the teachers are very impressed with the standard of reading and writing in the class. Keep up the good work 2nd class!
  • Pupils in 2nd class who are making First Communion this year are invited to attend mass in Mary Immaculate Church this Sunday at 11a.m. Pupils and their parents are asked to be seated by 10.45a.m. It is parish policy that pupils wear their school uniform to all Communion preparation Masses.
  • Clothes Recycling Fundraiser – As we head into autumn you might like to tidy out the wardrobes and presses. Recycle items accepted are: clean clothing, household textiles, i.e. curtains, towels, paired shoes, handbags, belts.  The following items cannot be accepted for recycling – mobile phones, laptops, dirty or wet clothing, mats, carpets, duvets/pillows, books.  You can drop bags of recycling items into the school from Friday 5th October up to 9.30am on Tues 9th October (as the bags will be collected by 9.45am). We are unable to accept any recycling after Tuesday morning 9th October.  Thank you for your support.
