Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome back to school and a happy New year to all. Our news this week is as follows

• We are delighted that our astro turf is almost complete and can now be used by the pupils. Each class will get a run on the astro truf at lunch and breaktimes as well as the opportunity to use it for Physical Education and other outdoor activities. It is a fantastic addition to the school and we are very excited that we can finally get to use it.

• A Mass for pupils making Communion this year will take place this Sunday 12^th January at 11a.m. in Mary Immaculate Church. Pupils are expected to wear their school uniform to this Mass.
• We are currently accepting enrolments for Junior Infants for next September. If you have a child that you wish to start school next year please collect an enrolment application form from the school office. If you know a family who wish to enrol their child please let them know that the closing date for applications is 31^st January 2020.
• We will be running a major fundraising event on 28^th Feb next in the Oakwood hotel. It will be a fantastic night of entertainment with an opportunity to win some money also. It is called the 20k Drop. We are currently looking from sponsorship from local companies as it will be an opportunity for them to promote their businesses and services. If you have a contact in a local company can you contact the school so that we can ensure they do not miss out on this opportunity. • First Confessions will take place for pupils in 2^nd class on 28^th January in Mary Immaculate Church at 7p.m.  The pupils are busy preparing for this important step on their road to First Communion later this year.
