Thursday Note 30th January 2020

January 30th, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Can you believe that we are almost at the end of January. Our news this week is as follows

  • Congratulations to our pupils in 2nd class who made their First Confession last Tuesday evening in Mary Immaculate Church. There was great excitement in the church and we were all very proud of our pupils. Well done! The next big day will be  First Communion in May.

  • As part of Catholic Schools week we had our annual celebration of Grandparents here in the school this morning. It was lovely to see so many grandparents join us this morning. Thank you to all our pupils and teachers who prepared lovely performances in song and poem celebrating the gift and joy of grandparents. We remember also today all the grandparents who are no longer with us and we hope that their memory will be a comfort and gift to their grandchildren as they grow up. Pictures from today’s celebration will be up on the school website in the next few days. Thank you to all our grandparents who took time out of their busy schedules to join us this morning.
  • Best of luck to our boys’ indoor hurling team who will be participating in an indoor hurling blitz next week. Also good luck to our girls’ indoor camogie team who will also be participating in a blitz. Both teams have been training on our new astro turf recently and we wish them all the best.
  •  Exciting news!!!! The launch for our major fundraiser 20k Drop will take place next Tuesday 4th Feb at 7.30p.m. here in the school halla. We would like to extend an invitation to you to attend this launch. Adam Moloney (local musician) will treat us to a few songs on the night. As space is limited you need to book a place at the launch via the school office where you can collect your free entry ticket. There is no cost for the launch. For further details on the launch and our big night please see flyer attached to this email.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
