Thursday Note 26th November 2015

November 26th, 2015

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well this week as we get towards the end of November. Our news this week is as follows

  • Thank you to all parents/guardians who came in over the past few weeks for the Parent/Teacher meetings. Teachers are happy to meet with parents at any stage during the school year at a mutually convenient time if there is an issue or concern. It is a good idea to make an appointment if you need a meeting so that the teacher will be able to speak with you.

  • We welcome Ms. Christine Hogan back to St. Tola’s N.S. She will be teaching 6th class while Ms. Vaughan is on maternity leave. If any parent of a 6th class pupil wants to meet with Ms. Hogan at any stage she will be happy to facilitate this. Again it would be better to make an appointment to schedule a time as Ms. Hogan will be teaching during school time.
  • We wish our school choir well as they represent St. Tola’s tonight in Ennis Cathedral at a Primary Schools Choir recital. They have put in great work over the past few months and we hope they enjoy the experience. Thank you to Ms. Halliday, Ms. Riordan and Ms. Fleming for all the work they have done.
  • The Parent’s Association will be holding a meeting on Tuesday next 1st Dec at 7p.m. here in the school. Even if you were not able to attend the AGM in September you are most welcome to come along to this meeting if you would like to get involved or help out in any way. You will be very welcome.
  • We wish Ms. Hehir’s son Rio (age 4) well as he will be taking part in the Late Late Toy show tomorrow night. I’m sure he will have a very enjoyable experience. Keep an eye out for him as he will be riding a motorbike!!
  • We send our congratulations to Wolfe Tones Intermediate Hurling team who won the Munster final last Saturday. Some of the club members came along to Cruinniú last Friday where they spoke to the children and showed them some of the trophies they won earlier this year. They were delighted with the encouragement and support the pupils gave them. No doubt it spurred them on to win the match!!!
  • Well done to 2nd class who visited Supermacs yesterday to learn how to make pizzas. Thanks to Jamie McLaughlin Reidy who won this prize for his class for a colouring competition.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
