Anthony presents ‘The Wright Brothers’

May 26th, 2017

4th class were delighted today to receive a very special presentation from a member of their class. Anthony has worked very hard over a number of weeks to put together a very impressive powerpoint on ‘The Wright Brothers’. He presented this to the whole class today and answered all questions that were asked of him. The class however were super amazed by the model airplane that he created. It even had a battery powered propeller! Well done Anthony and thank you to Ms Halliday for all your help.

Perfect Pizza’s!!!

May 24th, 2017

Yesterday 6th class had a lovely afternoon! Gabriellis recently won a colouring competition in Supermacs and as a result we all got to go to Supermacs and make our very own pizza’s.  It was great fun, we began by getting prepared with aprons and sanitising our hands. The first station was rolling and slapping the dough to make the base,  ensuring there was no air holes left in it. We then put on our tomato base and covered it with mozerella cheese. Finally we chose our favourite toppings before it went into the oven. We then came to the best part – eating them!!! We all want to say a huge “Thank you” to Naomi, Hannah and Darragh for all their help, patience and kindness. In particular we would also like to thank Greg Balicka, the manager for organising the competition and treating us so well on the day. We are unsure who enjoyed it more – the staff or the pupils!!!

Our trip to see the spectacular Irish Coast Guard Helicopter in Shannon!!

May 21st, 2017

Second class were very lucky to be  invited to visit the Irish Coast Guard Helicopter in Shannon on Friday 19th May!!  The children were really excited as were Ms. Mc Guane and Ms. O’Neill who accompanied the children.

A big thank you to the Irish Coast Guards, especially Philip Wrenn who gave us a tour of the operations room and explained to us what happens in an emergency situation.  He also gave us a tour around the exterior and interior of this amazing  helicopter, pointing out the powerful searchlight, hoists, camera etc. Children were also shown some advanced medical equipment on board the helicopter. Philip showed us how to perform an ECG on patients to check their heart.

Inspired by this trip, some children can’t wait to become Paramedics and Pilots of the future!!!
