A wonderful carol service was held in the hall on the day of the holidays. The story of Christmas was shared as well as Christmas traditions from around the world. Children from every nationality in our school shared a Christmas greeting in their native language. Every class performed either a song or a poem also. Thanks to all our families who visited to share the morning with us. We wish our entire school community a special Christmas and every best wish for 2019!!
Staff vs Students 2018
September 5th, 2018
This year saw the start of one of the biggest sporting rivalries in St. Tolas NS history…The Staff vs The Students!! To wrap up a fantastic year for all this years 6th class, they decided to take on the staff in a game of Olympic Handball. 6th class trained very hard for it and got an initial advantage over the staff who were too busy doing end of year reports to train for the big game. In what could only be described as ideal weather conditions, the game kicked off with a hostile and boisterous crowd supporting 6th class. It was also noted there were quite a few heckles when any staff member got their hands on the ball!!
It was real nip-tuck for most of the match but the experience of the staff came through in the end to allow them stumble over the line in a hard fought battle. Great fun was had by all and many thanks to the parents assosciation who provided drinks on the day…teachers have requested oxygen masks for 2019’s game!!
Graduation Video 2018

June 22nd, 2018
We had a lovely Graduation ceremony earlier today. It was fantastic to see so many parents and family turn up to see off a very special class as they finish their last week in St Tolas NS. Fr. Francis Xavier and Fr. Arnie said mass and Ms. Fitzgerald and Ms. Vaughan had some lovely words for 6th class. The very thoughtful 6th class gave flowers to all their past teachers and Tracey. Ms McGuane got flowers from Anthony and Leah to say thanks for all her work as she won’t be teaching in St Tolas next year. Catherine Stack was presented with a bouquet from the Parents Association to say thanks for all her hard work with the parents association while her girls have been in the school…feels like forever!! 6th class received their certificates and then everyone got to watch a video that they created to say goodbye. Finally, 6th class sang a beautiful song called It’s Time…it was an emotional performance!! All at St Tolas NS would like to thank 6th class for all the memories they’ve given us over the last 8 years and thank especially the families whose youngest children are about to graduate. We hope to see you all again and wish you all the very best in the future!!
4th Class Helicopters – STEAM
February 12th, 2018
4th Class conducted an experiment last Friday as part of the STEAM program. They created paper helicopters using a template and they had to perform a number of different tasks. They had to predict before they carried out the tasks. We discovered a lot of interesting things. Pupils were fascinated that even with half a wing the helicopter still rotated.
