Thursday Note 28th June

June 28th, 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well as we approach the end of the current school year. Our news is as follows

  • On Tuesday last we had the inaugural match between 6th class and the staff of St Tola’s. The chosen sport was Mini-Olympic handball and it was a very close contest. 6th class battled hard throughout the match which was played in very hot conditions. The final score was 4-3 with the staff just about coming out on top. Well done to all. Thank you to the other classes who gave great encouragement to both teams. Thank you also to the members of the Parents Association who came in and provided a drink for all pupils and all staff. It was greatly appreciated.

Graduation 2018

June 22nd, 2018

We had a lovely Graduation ceremony earlier today. It was fantastic to see so many parents and family turn up to see off a very special class as they finish their last week in St Tolas NS. Fr. Francis Xavier and Fr. Arnie said mass and Ms. Fitzgerald and Ms. Vaughan had some lovely words for 6th class. The very thoughtful 6th class gave flowers to all their past teachers and Tracey. Ms McGuane got flowers from Anthony and Leah to say thanks for all her work as she won’t be teaching in St Tolas next year. Catherine Stack was presented with a bouquet from the Parents Association to say thanks for all her hard work with the parents association while her girls have been in the school…feels like forever!! 6th class received their certificates and then everyone got to watch a video that they created to say goodbye. Finally, 6th class sang a beautiful song called It’s Time…it was an emotional performance!! All at St Tolas NS would like to thank 6th class for all the memories they’ve given us over the last 8 years and thank especially the families whose youngest children are about to graduate. We hope to see you all again and wish you all the very best in the future!!

5th Class School Tour

June 22nd, 2018

5th class went to Pure Skill in Galway for their school tour. They had hoped to go to Coole Park for a picnic and a game of soccer on the way home but it rained all day. The weather didn’t dampen their spirits however and they had great fun playing soccer, rugby, cricket, baseball, basketball, golf, gaelic football, hurling and tennis. To wrap up the day, they had Dominos pizza and goujons and wedges. Great fun was had by all….especially in the sing-off on the way home!!
