Thursday Note 9th June 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well and enjoying the fine weather. We hope you had an enjoyable mid-term last week. Our news this week is as follows

  • Lots of classes have been on school tours this week. Yesterday 4th class went to Kilkee where they took part in a range of water sports and activities. 3rd class went to Bunratty and Craggaunowen and had a very enjoyable and informative day. Today 1st and 2nd classes are off to the Burren Nature Sanctuary while 6th class are going to the UL Activity Centre. Next week Juniors are off to The Farmyard in Corofin on Tuesday and finally 5th class are going to Galway on Thursday next.

  • Our end of year school Mass will take place on Tuesday 21st June at 11a.m. here in the school hall. Parents and family members are welcome to attend. Following the Mass we will have a Graduation ceremony for pupils in 6th class. However, pupils in 6th will finish school on the 30th June as usual.
  • On Tuesday evening next 14th June a meeting for parents of new Junior Infants who will be starting with us in September will take place here in the school at 7p.m. I look forward to meeting our new parents and welcoming them to St. Tolas.
  • On Friday 17th June the new Juniors will spend a little time here in the school meeting their new classmates, their new teacher and getting familiar with their new classroom.
  • Sports Day has provisionally been scheduled for Thursday 23rd June weather permitting. We will confirm all details closer to the date with you.
