Dear Parents/Guardians,

 We hope you are well this week. Our news is as follows

  • As part of Operation Transformation all primary schools in Ireland have been asked to take an exercise break this Friday at 10a.m. For 10 minutes all classes will come together to do a warm up followed by a short walk ( weather permitting). We would ask that all pupils wear their tracksuit and runners tomorrow, Friday and also bring a coat to school.

  • Comhghairdeas le Rang a Sé ó thaobh bua mór sa Chomortas Scoil Drámaiochta. ( Congratulations to 6th class on winning the Clare competition in the School Drama competition as Gaeilge) 6th class went to Glór on Tuesday last to take part in this competition and have qualified for the Munster Final. Well done to all the pupils and a huge go raibh mile maith agaibh to Ms. Vaughan and Ms. Burke for all their hard work in preparing the class for this competition.
  • Thank you to all the Grandparents and parents who joined us last Thursday for our prayer service to celebrate Grandparents’ Day. Please see our photo gallery on this event on our school website at www.tolasns.com
  • This week we are celebrating Friendship Week. All classes have had classes on what it means to be a good friend. They have also worked on posters/pictures/ artwork on this theme which will be displayed around the school. We will have small prizes also for the artwork which will be given out next week. At Cruinniu tomorrow every class will have a short performance in the form of a poem/song/rap on the theme of Friendship.
  • A Communion preparation Mass will take place this Sunday for pupils in 2nd class in Mary Immaculate Church at 11a.m. Pupils are asked to wear their school uniform and to be seated by 10.45a.m.
  • 1st Class are continuing with Litaeracy Lift Off at present. The teachers working with the class are very pleased at how the pupils are progressing with their reading fluency, comprehension, word attack skills and also with their writing. Well done 1st class and keep up the good work!
  • Tola’s will close for mid-term break on Thursday and Friday 23rd/24th February. School will re-open on Monday 27th February.
