Thursday Note 27th April 2017

April 27th, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well this week as we start into our final term of the current school year. I hope that you had a relaxing and enjoyable break over the past two weeks. Our news is as follows

  • Thank you to all our parents who supported the recent Easter raffle organised by the Parents’ Association. A total of €446.80 was raised for school funds.

  • Our Parents’ Association have organised a coffee meet and greet for tomorrow Friday for the parents of pupils in Junior and Senior Infants. If you are coming to collect your child tomorrow why not come a few minutes early and have a cuppa and a chance to get to know other parents and members of the Parents’ Association. Tea/coffee will be available in the room beside the infant classrooms from 1.10p.m.tomorrow until 1.40p.m.
  • 2nd class are busy getting ready for their First Communion on Saturday 6th May. Thank you to the parents of 3rd class who have volunteered to help out after the Communion in the school after the ceremony. If there are parents in other classes who would like to lend a hand on Saturday 6th May here in the school please let Tracey know in the school office. This is a lovely tradition where the children who have made their Communion have a small party here in the school and their family get a chance to sit down and have tea/coffee before they go on to their family celebrations.
  • Can I remind parents that pupils must wear their school uniform every day and school tracksuit on designated P.E. days. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
  • On behalf of the pupils, staff and Board of Management of St. Tola’s N.S.I would like to extend our sincere sympathies to Finn and Kira Mannering and to their mother Alice following the recent passing of the children’s father Dave. Our thoughts and prayers are with Finn, Kira, Alice and their extended family at this sad time. Ar Dheis Dé go rabh a anam.
  • Our school calendar for the school year 2017/18 has been finalised and is being sent out today with this note. It will also be available to view on the school website at tolasns.com, under the latest news tab. If you would like a hard copy of the calendar please call into the school office. We would ask that you plan your family holidays around the school holidays to avoid your child missing valuable time at school.
  • Tolas will be closed to pupils on Monday next 1st May as it is a public holiday. We will re-open as usual on Tuesday next 2nd May. Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
