Thursday Note 11th May 2017

May 11th, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well and enjoying the recent fine weather. Our news this week is as follows

  •  Congratulations to the boys and girls of second class who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday last. They were a credit to their families and to the school. Thank you to Ms. O’ Neill and Fr. Arnie who worked so hard all year to prepare the pupils for Communion. Thank you to the pupils from 3rd-6th class who gave up their Saturday morning to come along and sing in the choir. Thank you to Ms. Halliday who organised the choir. A huge thank you to the Parents’ Association and the parents of 3rd class who organised the Communion breakfast here in the school after the ceremony. It was lovely for the pupils and their families to meet after the ceremony before they went on for their own family celebrations. Thank you again to all involved in helping make the First Communion so memorable. Please see our website, www.tolasns.com for photos from the day.

  • The Parents’ Association are having a short meeting on Tuesday next here in the school at 7p.m. All welcome to attend.
  • It is with regret that I must inform you that Prego Menswear is closing down in Skycourt Shopping Centre at the end of the month and will no longer be able to provide the school tracksuit. As a result of this we have organised that the supplier will sell tracksuits directly to parents on Wednesday 7th June from 7p.m.-8.30p.m. You can bring your child along to fit on the tracksuit. There will be a number available to take away on the night and the rest of the orders will be delivered to the school at a later date. You may want to mark this date in your diary.
  • The school will be organising a sponsored walk on 26th May next. The sponsorship cards will go home on 18th May (one per family). These must be returned by 25th May even if they have not been completed.
  • 3rd and 4th class will take part in a hurling blitz tomorrow in Wolfe Tones GAA club along with pupils from other primary schools in Shannon. We wish them well and hope that the weather will hold for the blitz!
  • Our girls’ Camogie team will play against Meelick N.S. on Tuesday next. They have been busy training for their match at lunchtimes over the past few weeks. We wish them well.

 Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald
