Children’s author, Olive Mooney, came to visit 4th, 5th and 6th classes on Friday last.Olive read a couple of chapters from her book and answered many questions on what the life of an author is like. It took Olive 18 months to write her first book, The Book of Ornis. She bases many of her stories on events and characters that she sees in her own life. It takes a long time for a publishing company to decide whether to publish an author’s book or not. If you want to write your own book, you have to spend a long time editing your story and checking for spelling mistakes, just like we do in St. Tolas.
