  • Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well this week even though the weather has not been too good. Our news is as follows

  • Thank you to all parents who have ordered calendars for Christmas. All orders have been sent off to the printers and the calendars will be distributed as soon as we have them in the school.

  • Congratulations to the following pupils who were winners in the recent Art competition organised by the local Credit Union. Well done to all:

Age 11-13                   Nikola Belasika-1st Place,  Hollie Hannon Barry-3rd Place

Age 8-19                     Edmund Hillery – 3rd Place

Age 7 & Under           Leila Segzda – 2nd Place, Jessica McEvoy – 3rd Place

  • As the weather is getting colder please ensure that your child has a coat at school every day. We will be outside for breaks if it is dry.
  • We are now accepting enrolment applications for Junior Infants for September 2018. If you have a child due to start school next year or if you know someone who has a child due to start please ask for an enrolment application form from the school office at your earliest convenience. We have received a number of applications already.
  • We will be holding our Christmas concerts on Wednesday 20th December from 9.30a.m. to 12.30p.m. approx. We will have more exact times for the various classes closer to the date. Also we will hold our annual Carol service on Friday 22nd Dec at 10a.m. You may wish to mark those dates in your diary.
  • Well done to all our pupils in 1st class who are currently working hard at Literacy Lift Off. The pupils are working hard at their reading, writing and word work. Well done to all the pupils who are reading their books every night at home too. Keep up the good work 1st Class.
  • The pupils in 6th class who are making Confirmation this year have a preparation Mass this Sunday at Mary Immaculate Church at 11a.m. Pupils need to wear their school uniform to the Mass.
  • As you are aware the pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th classes joined with the school choir from St. Conaire’s N.S and volunteers who support the orphanage in Goradiche to record a CD of the song The Wonder of You. The CD is almost ready to be released for sale. A permission letter is going home today for the pupils in these classes in relation to attending the launch on 7th December Dec 7th at 7p.m. at Insomnia in Skycourt Shopping Centre. Pupils must be accompanied by an adult on the night. We will be hoping that all in the school community will support this worthy cause. Details on how to purchase the CD or download the song will be shared shortly.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
