Thursday Note 30th November 2017

November 30th, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well this week as we head into the start of the Christmas season . Our news this week is as follows

  •  Last week we celebrated Friendship Week here in St. Tola’s. All the classes had S.P.H.E. lessons on what it means to be a good friend. All classes did art work on the theme of friendship. Some of these are displayed in the hall and are lovely. On Friday last we had a wonderful Cruinniu with every class singing a song or saying a poem on this theme. Well done to all the pupils for their fantastic efforts during the week.

  • As the weather is very cold at the moment please make sure that your child has a warm coat at school. If the weather is dry we go out for our break and lunch.
  • The CD of the Wonder of You in aid of Goradiche Orphanage will be launched next Thursday 7th Dec at 7p.m. at Insomnia in Skycourt Shopping Centre. We are delighted that so many of the pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th classes can attend the launch where we will get to hear the recording for the first time. We hope that as many parents as possible can attend with their child on the evening. We will let you know next week details on how to purchase the CD or download the song on itunes.
  • 5th class took part in a Science workshop on Electricity on Tuesday last. This was facilitated by Michael Browne who works with Clare Education Centre. The pupils had to solve a number of problems in teams using circuits. Well done 5th class!
  • Well done to the pupils in 6th class who are making their Confirmation this year. They did the jobs at the Confirmation preparation Mass last Sunday and they represented their school very well.
  • Our website www.tolasns.com is worth checking out regularly. All the school news is put up there weekly. A group photo of the pupils who get Student of the Week is also uploaded every week. Any upcoming events are also posted on the website.
  • The Parents’ Association expect delivery of the school calendars next week. As soon as they arrive they will be distributed to those who have ordered them.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald
