Thursday Note 24th January 2019

January 24th, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are well as we move along through January. Our news this week is as follows:

  • We are accepting enrolment applications for Junior Infants for the school year 2019/20. If you need an application form or know a family who are interested in having their child attend St. Tola’s please contact the school office for an application form. The closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday 31st January.

  • Next week is Catholic Schools Week.  The theme this year is Celebrating the Work of our Local Catholic Schools. On Wednesday 30th January next at 11a.m.  we will celebrate our annual Grandparents Day with a prayer service of thanks for the gift of grandparents. We would like to extend an invitation to all grandparents in the school community to join us for this prayer service. Each class will have prepared a song/poem/thoughts about Grandparents for this event.  We look forward to meeting you then.
  • Congratulations to our two quiz teams who represented St. Tolas last Thursday night at the 36th Annual Clare Inter-Schools quiz. There was a huge turn out with 33 teams from all around Clare taking part. Both of our teams finished in the top 10 which was a fantastic result. Well done to all!
  • We are now taking orders for the DVD of our 40th Anniversary show. An order form went home with pupils from 3rd-6th classes. If you have a child in the younger classes and would like a copy of the DVD please contact the school office. The DVDs cost €5 each.
  • Congratulations to our camogie team who represented St. Tolas yesterday in the indoor camogie competition in Shannon Leisure centre. Well done to the girls and thank you to Ms. Kelleher and Ms. Riordan who coached them.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
