Thursday Note 31st January 2019

January 31st, 2019

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

On this last day of January we hope you are well despite the cold and wet weather. Our news this week is as follows

  • Thank you to all our grandparents and even some great-grandparents who joined us yesterday for our celebration of grandparents as part of Catholic Schools week. We were delighted to see so many of you there. We also remembered our grandparents who could not be with us and also those grandparents who have passed away. Thank you to all the pupils who did an amazing job with their songs and poems and also for the beautiful artwork in the hall.

  • The school will be closed to pupils on Wednesday 20th February to facilitate a staff training day on the Primary Language Curriculum. This leads into mid-term and the school will be closed on Thursday and Friday 21st and 22nd February for mid-term.
  • Wolfe Tones  GAA are running a mid-term camp organised by Mark O’ Donnell which will take place on 21st and 22nd Feb. in the GAA club and grounds. All primary school pupils are welcome even if they do not currently play with the club. If you require further details Mark can be contacted at coach@wtnsgaa.ie or mobile 086 7756053
  • Pupils from 3rd-6th classes will travel to UL next Thursday to take part in the Peace Proms practise. They will leave the school at 9.15a.m. and will be back by lunchtime. We won’t feel it until we have our concert on 2nd March. The songs sound great and we are really looking forward to this experience.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
