Golden Time is our free play time in 1st Class every Friday . The children work very hard all week to enjoy  a vareity of activities. This special time helps develop problem solving and co-operative skills. Activities range from lots of construction opportunities including Lego, Mobilo, KNex, magnets.  They love playing board games and doing Art activities. Some children love role play and enjoy playing school, we definitely have some budding teachers in our classroom! 

We love Maths in 1st Class. Here is a little snapshot of some of the activities the children have been engaging in. Estimating and weighing pumpkins, pattern work with cubes, traffic survey, problem solving games, number board games to practise doubling and halving and much more. The children love learning from each other and thrive working in pairs or small groups. They love and are encouraged to share all  the different ways they can come to the same answer.

We had an amazing fun week in 1st Class this week. Lots of spooky Artwork completed. The children really loved making their Halloween houses. We also enjoyed some pumpkin carving and did an interesting pumkin experiment! 

1st Class had a great time exploring in the Oakwood. They found many signs of Autumn as they worked in pairs and groups. We brought some of our treasures back to class for further investigation!
