1st Class Kings and Queens of the Jungle

May 10th, 2020

Another week of amazing work from 1st Class. They explored all about the Jungle and completed some great activities, such as letter writing, fact files and artwork on their favoutie Jungle animals. The children have been practising persuasive writing.  I asked them to convince me that their favourite jungle animal was the best…they did such a great job, I now have many favourite jungle animals! Their artwork and factfiles are absolutely super. Take a read to learn many new things about the jungle!

Dear Parent/Guardians,

We hope you are keeping well and safe. Our news this week is as follows

  • Following the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s announcement last Friday we now know that schools will not re-open until September. St Tola’s will continue to support our pupils remotely. Guidance and work for each week will be emailed on a Friday for the following week. Teachers can be contacted on their individual emails which are included in their work each week. From the 18th May school staff will be permitted in the building for the purpose of supporting remote learning while adhering to social distancing measures. At present all staff are working from home.

In Senior Infants the children have been learning about ‘Water’.  They learned about sharks, lighthouses, waterproof materials and importantly, conservation of water.  I’m so proud and impressed with their drawings and creations.

Talent Overload in 1st Class!

May 3rd, 2020

1st Class worked very hard last week on the theme of ‘Hobbies’.  Their talents are simply amazing.  Hobbies included swimming, cycling, gymnastics, skateboarding, gaming, musical instruments, art, football, hurling, basketball and reading! Wow, that is some list. I am so proud of every one of you! Hopefully we will all get back to doing what we love very soon!
