Thursday Note 26th May 2022

May 26th, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are keeping well. Our news this week is as follows

  • Our Senior Infants and Aoibhneas class are looking forward to their school tour on Monday next. They are off to visit Bunratty Folk park and are very excited. We hope the weather will be kind to them and they have a wonderful day.
  • 6th class have been busy this week planning for International Food day in their class today. They had to pick a dish to prepare and cook for today. They tried if possible to cook a dish from their own heritage. Today the dishes were brought into school and they get the opportunity to see and taste each other’s dishes. I think I will have to pay a visit to 6th class today to investigate!!! Well done 6th.
  • The first rounds of our annual Quizbrain have taken place. All pupils in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes take part in four rounds first. The top 20 will go into two semi-final rounds. From this the top 5 will qualify for the final to take place on 22nd June. There is some stiff competition this year and we wish everyone the best of luck.
  • We will have a real treat on Wednesday next when the mobile farm will come to St. Tolas. Each class will be timetabled to get to see some of the animals and learn all about them. We are all looking forward to this event and again we hope the weather will be kind to us.
  • Junior Infants are off on their school tour on Thursday next and they too are going to Bunratty Folk park. I believe there are some very excited Juniors looking forward to both the trip and going on a bus! I hope they have a really enjoyable day.
  • On Wednesday evening next on 1st June we will have a meeting for parents of our new Junior Infants who will start with us next September. This meeting will take place here in the school at 7p.m. We are looking forward to meeting our new families.
  • The weekend after next is a long weekend. St. Tola’s will be closed to pupils on Monday 7th June and Tuesday 8th June . St. Tolas will reopen on Wednesday 8th June.

Kind regards,

Mary Dunlea Fitzgerald, Principal
